Liz's purpose in life changed forever when she gave birth to her beloved & precious daughter Timber Scholl on February 10, 2009, affirming her new purpose to be an amazing mom. Liz lost her life to breast cancer that was found in June of 2010. She decided to fight this horrific disease with surgeries, chemotherapy & radiation. The breast cancer spread to other areas in her body & she continued to receive a variety of treatments through her oncologist, Dr. Ghosh in Cedar Rapids. In October of 2015, a tumor was found & removed from her brain. Liz continued to receive treatments for her many health issues until this fall, when her body could no longer tolerate it. Even then, Liz was hopeful that a miracle would happen & she would be cured & have a second chance of life. She was admitted to Respite Care at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City on December 12, 2017 & was cared for by the loving nurses & aides in the Hospice Unit. On December 20th, she was transferred to The Bird House, where Liz remained & received excellent end-of-life care from their staff. Survivors include: Daughter - Timber Scholl & Partner - Casey Scholl of Mt. Vernon, Mother - Sue Feeney & Step Father - Douglas Russell of Iowa City Father - Jim Sleichter of Iowa City Sister - Cybil (Sleichter) Miller & her family: Matt, Oliver & Maple of Coralville Sister - Mindy Sleichter of Iowa City Brother - Kyle Sleichter of Cedar Rapids Grandma - Barb Feeney of Iowa City Departed family: Grandfather - Dick Feeney, Grandfather - Carroll Sleichter & Grandma - Johanna Sleichter, all formerly from Iowa City Liz will forever be remembered for her positive attitude and outlook on life. She loved her family and friends and cherished her time spent with all of them. Liz loved animals, especially her four fur babies. She loved music and attending concerts. Her passion for music has been passed on to her daughter Timber. It was Liz's wish that a cure would be found so nobody would have to suffer. She would want those affected to have hope, strength and to never give up.
