attended college at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, MI. There she met her future husband prior to graduating with a certificate in dental assisting in 1958. She engaged in many business ventures including owning and operating a western/square dancing store in Bonita Springs, Florida.
Barbara was known for many things, but she was best known for her loving, nurturing, and caring nature. Even her sense of humor was sweet. She teased 3 generations of children starting with her own, when they misbehaved or got smart with her, her comment was "I am going to trade you in on a paper doll". Even her "threats" were endearing.
She enjoyed crafting and made beautiful Christmas and birthday cards for her family. She loved to travel and enjoyed spending winter months in Arizona with her husband and many friends. When home, spending time with family was central to Barbara. She enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and serving holiday feasts (and Barbara was a great cook). She loved dancing, particularly square dancing with her husband, John. Never was she more proud or more beautiful than she was when she and John renewed their wedding vow on their 50th anniversary in 2008. She was very grateful for the friends at Foundations Church who became family to her.
She is deeply missed by everyone who knew her. As we mourn the bright light that we lost in Barbara, we are grateful for the guardian angel we now have watching over us all.
A memorial service will be held at after the holidays.
