Madison-Barbara "Barb" Schwalbach passed away at her home on Friday, December 22, 2017.

Born October 11, 1935 in Sauk County, she married James "Jim" Schwalbach June of 1956, who preceded her in death on September 6, 2015. They moved from Milwaukee to the Deerfield area in 1968 where they became the owners and operators of school buses that served Cambridge and Deerfield.

Barb and Jim loved to travel together. They toured parts of the United States with their camper club and frequented Disney World while accompanied by their children and grandchildren. For many years, they spent their summers in the northwoods of Minoqua and winters under the Florida sun.

Nothing brought Barb more joy than to spend time with her family. She and Jim were always happy to have visitors and welcomed with open arms every new member of the Schwalbach clan. Above all else, Barb loved watching her grandchildren grow up and start families of their own.

as to be there. She was especially close with Mary B., who provided her with great company, and Doris, who visited Barb nearly every day -- often with freshly made food and baked goods.

Barb is survived by her children, Dave (Mary Peterson), Pete (Connie), Judy Falter, and Sandy (Gene) Dellinger, grandchildren Dan (Marie) Schwalbach, Kelsey (Zac) Braunschweig, Hannah (Mike) Melton, Alison (Tony) Woodburn, Kari (Derrick) Jones, and AJ Dellinger, along with two great-grandchildren, and recent joys, Adri Ann and Lucie Jones. She is further survived by her sister Shelby (Bill) Turley, and brother-in-law Jerry (Maxine) Schwalbach, along with cousins, nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate Barb's life will be held at the Tree of Life Chapel at Oakwood Village Prairie Ridge, Madison, on Saturday, January 6, 2018 with visitation starting at 1:30, and service at 2:30. In lieu of flowers, please direct donations to Agrace HospiceCare, 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Fitchburg, WI 53711.
