Richard L. Barker, 74, of Milliken, passed away on December 24, 2017 in Loveland, Colorado. He was born on December 11, 1943 in Greeley, Colorado to William and Esther (Fisher) Barker.
Richard spent his early years serving in the Army, traveling, and serving his country in the Vietnam War. After his military service, he came to Milliken where he and his family lived and served their community, by working in police services, security, and volunteering with the fire department. Richard served as a Volunteer firefighter on the Milliken Fire Department and held many offices including serving as Fire Chief. He also served as president of the Northern Colorado Firefighters Association.
He was known for his love and enjoyment of model building, especially his hobby of Model Railroading. Richard was also an avid broncos fan.
Richard is survived by his wife, Judy; daughter, Michelle (Brett) Bernhardt; grandchildren, Jakob Bernhardt and McKenzie (Travis) Siebers.
He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, William Barker., Betty Dunlap, and Robert Barker.
