Clarence W. "Clancy" Kuhn, 83, of Cedar Rapids died Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Mercy Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Services: 10:30 a.m., Thursday at St. Jude Catholic Church by the Rev. Mark Reasoner. Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery. A Vigil Service will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m., at Teahen Funeral Home where friends may visit with the family Wednesday from 3 to 7 p.m., and Thursday after 9 a.m., at the church.
Clarence is survived by three daughters, Machelle (Lelann) Sommerfelt of Jesup, Kimberly (Mike) See of Swisher and Sharon (Rex) Thornton of Cedar Rapids; two sons, John (Claire) Kuhn of Bettendorf and Kevin (Jennifer) Kuhn of Hudson; three granddaughters, Kira, Kaylin, and Ashlynn Kuhn; six grandsons, Jesse and Colton Thornton, Joshua and Philip Sommerfelt, Jacob Kuhn, and Cody See; a brother, Joe (Sharon) Kuhn of Cedar Rapids; a sister Geraldine Borgstahl of Dubuque; and a sister-in-law, Adella Kuhn of Decorah.
Clarence was preceded in death by his wife Pauline, a brother, Francis, two sisters, Lucille Novotny and Margery Morrissey, ...[more]
and two brothers-in-law Gerald Borgstahl and John Novotny.
Clarence was born October 2, 1934 in Ft. Atkinson the son of Frank and Ottilla Soukup Kuhn and married Pauline Kuhn on April 4, 1964 in Spillville. Pauline died on February 5, 2000. Clarence retired as a machinist after 45 years with FMC and Rockwell Goss. He was an Army veteran and a member of St. Jude Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
