Betty A. Kluber, 92, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, December 31, 2017, at Garnett Place Retirement Community. Services: 10 a.m., Friday at St. Jude Catholic Church. Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery. A Vigil Service with sharing time will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday at Teahen Funeral Home where friends may visit with the family Thursday from 3 to 7 p.m., and after 9 a.m., at the church.
Betty is survived by three daughters, Lydia (Allen) Arp of Palo, Lori (Jo Loonan) Kluber of Cedar Falls, and Lynn (Gene) Mealhow of Shellsburg; two sons, Mark (Julie) and Matthew (Dawn) Kluber both of Cedar Rapids; one brother, Jack (June) Sackett of Cedar Rapids; fourteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchild, a sister-in-law, Louise Sackett of Emmetsburg; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by husband Arnest, a brother, Bob Sackett, and her granddaughter, Katie.
Betty was born September 16, 1925 in South Sioux City the daughter of Casper and Lydia Westerhoff Sackett and grew up in Van Meter. She married Arnest Kluber on February 4, 1951 in Waukee. Arnie was the love of her life and passed away after 58 years of marriage in 2009...[more]
he was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church the Altar and Rosary Society, St. Margaret Circle, and volunteered for many years at Mercy Hospital.
Betty's family was her life. She loved to bake kolaches, cook large family dinners, and ring bells with the Garnett Place Ding-A-Lings.
