cially of the Iowa Hawkeyes, Arizona Wildcats, and Cubs. She enjoyed bowling in her free time and was part of many leagues over the years at the Rose Bowl and Lee's Lanes. She found happiness in playing bingo, singing karaoke, playing the slot machines, and for many years she ran the VFW Bingo Hall. Phyllis enjoyed listening to the Beatles and attending many concerts of the Home Free acapella group. Phyllis will be missed by many for the love that she shared with all, and her ability to be a great listener when anyone needed an ear.
Left to cherish Phyllis' memory is her son, Nickalous Kavars of Phoenix, AZ; step-daughter Melissa Hall of Jacksonville, FL; sisters, Patty Bellman (Randy Hamilton) of Eldridge, IA, Pam (Dale) Schlachter of Milford, IA, and Barbara Haller of Tuscon, AZ; a special friend who she referred to as her grandson by love, Sam Collins; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Aunt Margaret Heinzenroth, brother-in-law Joe Haller, and step-daughter Melinda Kavars.
