s, their parents, and fellow teachers. In 2000, Elaine was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. She joined Rock Steady Boxing shortly after it was founded in 2006. Even as a "Parkie" boxer, Elaine continued to face life with grace, determination and definitely with an irresistible sense of humor. She was indefatigable in her approach to Parkinson's and was a model at "Fighting Back" at Rock Steady. Playing the piano and organ was another passion in Elaine's life. Playing daily on her baby Grand was a fulfilling pleasure. Elaine's talent was admired by her students, her friends, and cohorts at the Lutheran Church, at her assisted living facilities and at Rock steady Boxing among other available venues. In her spare time, one might find Elaine combing the beach for shark's teeth at Anna Maria Island, photographing flowers, "winning" at cards, tooling around in her P.T. Cruiser, visiting the Northwoods in Wisconsin, interior decorating, and shopping for anything and everything. Her travels to Europe, England, Wales, Scotland, Australia, and New Zealand, and cruising in Alaska and the Caribbean enriched her life. Elaine is survived by her sisters Bev Norris (Ken) and Susie Wilcher (Stephen); her dear friend Peg Sharples; nephews Jeff and Steve; nieces Cara, Stephanie and Stacey; 8 great nieces and nephews; and a host of co-workers, friends and grateful students. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name are suggested to The Orchard School or to Rock Steady Boxing. A Celebration of Life will be held at The Orchard School, 615 W. 64th Street, Indianapolis, IN on Saturday, January 27 from 3:00-4:30 p.m. For more details, please visit www.leppertmortuary.com.
