Mary L. Manders, 83, of Dubuque, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2018 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 10, at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Msgr. Thomas Toale will officiate. Entombment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may greet the family from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 9, at Hoffmann Schneider Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1640 Main St., Dubuque, where there will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
Mary was born December 12, 1934 in Fillmore, IA, the daughter of Lawrence and Romilda (Rogers) Klostermann. She married Vince Manders on June 23, 1956 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Fillmore.
Mary was a homemaker who spent many years taking care of her family. In her later years, she worked several part-time jobs, including at Mercy Hospital in housekeeping. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, where she could be found every week sitting in the front row with Vince. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards, trying her luck at the casino, and traveling. Mary was an avid Cubs fan.

1 years; three daughters, Joyce (Kevin) Dollar of Neshkoro, WI, Lisa (John) Schromen of Dyersville, and Jenny (fiancé Ken Raney) Manders of Dubuque; two grandchildren, Nickolas Dollar and Matthew (Annie Rozinski) Milligan; one great grandchild, Emma Milligan; her brothers and sisters, Lois (Dave) Gavin, Leo (Carol) Klostermann, Jean (Vern "Flute") Weber, Janice Beaman, Larry "Smiley" (Linda) Klostermann, and Gary Klostermann; her in-laws, Marie Manders, Delbert Manders, Jim Theisen, Arlene Kohn, Darlene Klostermann, Luella (Paul) Lueken, George Manders, Mary Jane Burcham, and Margie (Pat) Steger; two half-sisters, Geraldine and Geralyn; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her parents-in-law, Joseph and Christina Manders; her brother, Carl Klostermann; and her in-laws, Myrlen "Bucky" Beaman, Lester (Doris), LaVerne, Sylvester, Jerry (Kay) and Norman (Rosie) Manders, Shirley Theisen, Harold (Diane) Manders, and Jim Kohn.
