o was also serving in the Air Force. They were married in 1954. The first 9 years of marriage were spent moving a lot, living in Montana, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Florida and Germany where Charlie was in the Combat Missile Crew at Hahn AFB during the time that the Berlin wall was being built.
In 1963 Charlie was relocated to Vandenberg AFB in California and served in the 4300th M.M. squadron as NOCIC in the telemetry and instrumentation section. He was part of the crew assigned to airborne satellites, including the launching of Thor missiles which were used to put up the satellites. His last 4 years IN THE Air Force were spent teaching - Charlie was a master instructor for electronics, telemetry, and satellite tracking, traveling world-wide to teach at many different satellite stations.
In 1970 Charlie retired from the Air Force and found his second niche in life in Loveland, becoming a postman and carrying the "City 7" route for 22 years. These were happy years for him and he felt like the people on his route were part of his extended family.
Charlie enjoyed many activities including traveling; mission trips to Mexico; bowling; trips to Black Hawk, Central City and Las Vegas; John Wayne movies; fishing and canoeing; and spending time with friends and family.
Charlie is survived by his wife Marilyn, his daughters Terri Walter and Liz Kochis (Marc), son-in-law Steve DeGolier, granddaughters Emily DeGolier and Beka White (Sid), and great-grandchildren Mac and Rachel White. A daughter Debbie DeGolier preceded him in death. Charlie is also survived by 8 of his 10 siblings and numerous nieces and nephews.
Feel free to join the family for a burial with military honors at 1:30 pm on Friday, January 12, 2018 at Loveland Burial Park and a memorial service and reception following at 2:30 pm at Allnutt Funeral Service.
