ften kiddingly dubbed "Jane".
In 1982, she was suddenly stricken with encephalitis which put her into a coma for weeks and left her with recurring seizures, resulting in early medical retirement. Thus began a series of afflictions which she accepted without a "why me" attitude. Cancer of the esophagus and nine years of blindness did not destroy her warm personality.
The death of her husband and her only child resulted in the need for the services of a nursing home. She has lived at Care Center of Laurel for the past six years. Known by the staff as a "no complainer", she seemed to be loved as one of their favorites.
Cora was through and through a beautiful human being and is deeply missed by all who knew her.
