Virginia L. Benson (Ginny), 88, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2018 unexpectedly. Born on July 13, 1929, Ginny was the daughter of Mildred and John Relyea of Highland. Ginny a lifelong area resident where she married Stanley R. Benson on May 18, 1952. Survivors include her son David, his wife Leslie of Highland, a sister Mildred Busch of Highland, a brother Wilfred Relyea and his wife Helen of Clinton Corners, grandson Alan Benson, who made his home with Ginny, Samantha Ruschak-Benson and her husband Stephen of Pennsylvania, and great-grandchildren, Lane and Hunter Ruschak and several nieces and nephews.
Ginny enjoyed working at The Oddo house, Pavero's and also volunteering at Vassar Brothers Hospital. The love she had for her family was unconditional-and she also loved feeding the birds, fishing, watching the Yankees and loved her cats.
Ginny's home was the gathering place for the family and many of her friends. She was a willing ear for all their problems and triumphs and fed all who entered. She was predeceased by her husband Stanley, a son Gary and her three brothers, Robert, Kenneth and Jack.

Funeral Services will take place on Thursday, January 11, 2018 11am at the funeral home.
Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery.
