Ola Oyres, 93, passed away January 9, 2018 at the Madrid Home in Madrid, Iowa. Visitation and services will be held at Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Granger, Iowa beginning at 11am with the funeral at 12 pm (Noon). Burial will be held at Lincoln Cemetery, Granger.
Ola was born in Paris, Tennessee on Mary 31, 1924 to Jessie and Ruby (Miller) Lasater. On February 14, 1943 she was united in marriage to Wesley Lewis Oyres and they made their home in Granger. She was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church and American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed quilting and spending summers at Lake Rathbun with her family and friends.
Ola is survived by her daughter, Carole (Howard) Core; son-in-law, Clarence J. Gunderson, Jr; three grandchildren, Julie Simons, Darrell (Lawanda) LeMaster and Valerie (Robert) Kuehl; five great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; and one great great grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wesley; daughter, Eva Rubina Gunderson and great granddaughter, Caitlin LeMaster.
Memorials may be directed to her family to be used for a memorial tribute in the Granger Park.
