Gloria M. Sorrentino, 90, of Milton NY, formerly of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away peacefully at her daughters home where she resided for three years. She was born December 6, 1927 in Poughkeepsie, NY the daughter of the late Antonio and Jennie Magliocca DeCarlo. On October 24, 1948 she married Frank Sorrentino, who predeceased her in 2009. The love of her life was her faith, family and friends. She was always cooking and baking for all to enjoy. Gloria was a parishoner of St. James Church in Milton, NY which is now merged with St. Mary's Church in Marlboro.
Survivors include her son Mark and his wife Mona Sorrentino and their children Matthew and Melinda Sorrentino; Gregory and his wife Kathy Sorrentino and their children Kelly Colon and her husband Nevin Colon and Gary and Courtney Sorrentino; Thomas and his wife Lorraine Sorrentino and their children Joanna Railing and her husband Jason and their kids Luke, Mark and John; her daughter Ann Sorrentino Verdi and her husband Frank; their children Joseph and Christine Verdi and their children Mia and Frank; her granddaughters Gina Verdi, Jennie Verdi, Marissa Verdi Liquori and her husband Rich...[more]
Liquori. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was predeceased by her brothers John DeCarlo, Tony DeCarlo and Arthur DeCarlo and her sisters Minnie DeCarlo Carbone and Bianca DeCarlo Pisciotta.
A calling hour will be held Friday, January 12th 9:30-10:30am at the Michael Torsone Memorial Funeral Home Inc., 218 Mill Street, Poughkeepsie, wheelchair and street level parking located off Vassar Street. A Mass of Christian burial will take place 11:00am at Mt. Carmel Church, Poughkeepsie, NY. Internment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.
