Betty Jean Foster passed away peacefully on Jan 3, 2018. She was laid to rest at Memorial Park on Jan 8, 2018 next to her parents. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sergeant Bluff.
She was born and raised in Sergeant Bluff IA by her parents, Roy and Marguerite Sanderson. She was one of 5 children, a high school cheerleader and drum majorette. She even led the band on a "detour" at one parade so she could go by her grandmother's house. She was an avid genealogist and along with her cousin, Mary Lou Burke, traced our family back many generations. One of her favorite places to go was the Bosque del Apache Wildlife Preserve outside of Albuquerque NM with her dear friend, Jeanette. Many hours were spent watching the whooping cranes and other wildlife there.
She is survived by her children, Thomas Foster and Julie Foster, 4 grandchildren, Ian, Heather, Kirk and Felicia and 2 great grandchildren as well as her brothers, Jim (Marie) Sanderson and Dennis (Donna) Sanderson and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Melvin "Sandy" Sanderson and a sister, Judy McKinney.
