Norman H. Pike, 93, of Marshalltown, IA, passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2015, at Villa Del Sol in Marshalltown. Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, February 9, 2015, at Anderson Funeral Homes, 405 W. Main St. Marshalltown. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m., until the time of services. Inurnment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Marshalltown. Anderson Funeral Homes has been entrusted with the arrangements. Online condolences may be sent to www.andersonfhs.com. Norman was born July 24, 1921, to Robert and Ida (Hobson) Pike in Sioux City, IA. He grew up in and graduated from the Sioux City Schools in 1937, then attended Harvard University, graduating Cum Laude in 1942 with a philosophy degree. Norman then enlisted in the Army from 1943-1946, after being released he returned to Harvard, where he finished his MBA in 1948. Norman was united in marriage to Kathyrn (Strange) on September 11, 1948 in Sioux City, they were married for 60 years, and she preceded him in death (2009). unting manager. They moved to Marshalltown in 1964, where he worked at Fisher Controls as a credit manager until retiring in 1989. He was in the Fisher 25 years club. Norman was a member of First Congregational Church in Marshalltown for 50 years, serving on the board of the church and as head deacon. He enjoyed history, traveling and American outdoor entertainment like circuss and carnivals. He was a member of Circus Fans of America for 53 years, serving as tri-state director of Iowa/Kansas/Missouri, and was a 50 year member of Circus Historical Society. He also was the author of published articles of both history and fiction. Norman is survived by his son: Larry (Leanne) Pike of Chicago, IL, grandchildren; Thomas Pike of Tokyo, Japan, Kaitlyn Pike of Chicago and Chris Pike of Bethlehem, PA; one great-grandchild, Leena Pike; and a sister, Katharine Hedeen of Worthington, MN. He is preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn.
