e floor, few were her equal. She loved all the dances at the German Hall, Modernistic Ballroom, Eagle Point and other places. When she and Herbert went for a date she asked him "Do you know how to dance?" and when he said "no" she said "Goodbye." He quickly learned how to dance.
They were married on February 8, 1942 at Trinity Lutheran Church. On March 23, 1943 they had a son, Allen Robert, who died on March 28, 1943. Following this they had three more sons.
Elaine was very active in her church and in Ladies Aid. She kept the church's financial records for almost 68 years. She also was a member of a card club of church ladies that played for 66 years. She was a member of the Board of Directors of the church.
She was a devoted wife for 58 years and took care of her husband the last 5 years of his life Herbert passed away on February 25, 2000. Her three sons were her great joy and she was their biggest fan and supporter. Her children rise and call her blessed as it says in the scriptures.
Elaine is survived by her two sons: Thomas (Beverly) Goodsman of Clinton and Keith (Deb) Goodsman of Climax Springs, Missouri; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two sons: Rev. Ronald Goodsman and infant Allen Robert, two sisters and one brother.
Memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Camp or the Clinton Humane Society.
