Gene Bettack

Eugene I. Bettack, age 69, of Marathon, formerly of Antigo ( Nekoosa) died Friday, September 14, 2007, at Select Specialty Hospital, Madison following a long illness. He was born March 1, 1938 in Antigo to the late Albert and Mildred (Stasek) Bettack. He and the former Mary Jane Wierschke were married on December 15, 1956 in Antigo at Peace Lutheran Church. He was a potato grower in Antigo. He moved to Nekoosa and owned and operated Sandview Farms. He was dispatcher for Midway Transport operated by Darryl Bassuener, a long time friend. After moving to Marathon, he was employed by Veolia as operation manager where he was currently employed. He enjoyed feeding his birds, grilling out, his family and his beloved pet Prissy. In addition to his wife Mary, he is survived by Four Daughters Cindy ( Ward ) Heinrich, (No City) Tina (Bill) Jaminski, Wisconsin Rapids Tammy (Chad) Hamin, Mather Carrie Bettack, Marathon A son Eugene (Debbie) Bettack, Jr, Nekoosa Nine Grandchildren Craig, Brad, Maurica, Christine, Billy, Kade, Tara Lyn, Trevor, and Cody.
