Because of her artistic gifts and aesthetics for designing, she was called upon by several people and numerous organizations to design their bulletins, programs, presentations, etc. Tuanita was also known for her remarkable writing skills and exceptional proofreading skills; she was frequently requested by many people, including college students, to offer her critiques and her grammatical expertise. Tuanita graduated from John Marshall High School in 1981 and went on to attend Martin University where she learned to speak Spanish fluently. She was fully trained on the viola as well. She was employed by Raytheon (formerly the Naval Air Warfare Center) from May 1988 to December 1997. In June 1998 until January 2008 she was employed at the IN/KY Regional Council of Carpenters Apprenticeship Training School. In July 2009, she began her career working for the Marion County Sheriff's Office until her transition. During her brief moments here on earth, she was loved by so many and touched the lives of those she came in contact with. She is survived by her mother, Eva Talley-Sanders (Charles); father Joseph C. Lee Sr.; daughters, Christina Greene and Lindsay Greene; brothers, Joseph C. Lee Jr. (Sandra) and Oscar B. Lee; sisters Viva Lee-Shaw, Cherise Lee, and Deonna Lee-Hoyle (James); two nieces and six nephews. Visitation for Tuanita will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. with services immediately following at Greater Saint Mark Missionary Baptist Church, 5502 E. 38th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46218. Interment will be at Crown Hill Cemetery, 700 West 38th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46208. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.crownhill.org.
