Michael Ira DeLaHunt, 81, of Reinbeck and formerly of Waterloo, died at Mary Greeley Medical Center's Israel Family Hospice House in Ames on Thursday, January 11, 2018. He was born on November 5, 1936 in Cedar Rapids; the son of Paul and Isabelle Robbins DeLaHunt. Michael married Lupe Aguilera and they later divorced. He married Joanne Slessor on February 26, 1983 in Reinbeck, they were later divorced. He graduated from Manley High School in 1954 and attended St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN. Michael was a retail shoe merchandiser for Wohl Shoe Co. for 16 years, he worked 8 years as shoe department manager at JC Penney in Waterloo; he later was a life insurance agent with Lutheran Mutual Life; Michael retired from National Bank in Waterloo. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and the Exchange Club of Waterloo. He volunteered with Meals on Wheels. Michael was a model airplane enthusiast, and loved to travel.
