eys. Other jobs Jim had after his retirement included The Telegraph Herald, American Legion, Norton News and Dan Kruse. Jim was a Past Commander at the American Legion from 1999-2000. He had 45 continuous years as a member of the Legion, during this time he spent his time working on numerous committees. James loved to bowl. He met his wife at a bowling alley and passed the love he had for bowling on to his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. James was inducted into the bowling Hall of Fame in 1984 and Charter Member of the 700 Club. He also loved spending time on his house boat the Que Pasa, as well as watching the Chicago Cubs and Bears. James had the greatest ability to fix things. He was a master of all trades and passed that on to his children as well. Surviving are his wife, Janann; children, Stephanie (Steve) Beck, Greg (Joann) Vogt, and Cindy (Terry) Cottrell, all of Dubuque, Dan "Turtle" (Sue) Vogt of Littleton Co, and Molly Vogt of East Dubuque, IL; grandchildren Krystal (Chris) Shannon, Tiffany (Chad) Thomas, Kyle Wiest, Cody Beck, Amy (Chris) Dunn, Kristi (Chad) Miller, Amy (Dave) Kafer, Jolene (Luke) Heacock, Beth (Joe) Vermeulen, Ben (Shannon) Cottrell, Stephen (Mikki) Vogt, and Matt Vogt; 22 great-grandchildren; Sister-in-Laws Rita Vogt, Esther Goedken, Caroline Goedken, Delores Morley, Bonnie Ready, Marlene Goedken, Edith Goedken; Brother-in-Law Francis Goedken; many nieces and nephews; friends at the Diamond Senior Apartments; and his favorite bar stool at the American Legion. He is preceded in death by his parents; his step-father Ross Morley; his brothers John and Ray Vogt; Step-Siblings Eugene Morley and Arnetha Marting; Brother-in-Laws Melvin Miller, Duane, Melvin, Vernon, Herbert, John and Richard Goedken; Sister-in-Laws Delores Miller, Naomi Vogt, Marion, Ann and Regina Goedken.
