Iowa Hawkeyes and Iowa State Cyclone teams. Each month Bob and Janet met his siblings for brunch. Together Bob and Janet took a monthly trip to Waterloo to meet with Janet's siblings for a day of cards and delicious food. He also met each month with his fellow Alliant Energy retirees. The most important part of Bob's life was his family. He looked forward to birthdays and holidays spent together, which were full of laughter and fun fueled by Bob's personality. Bob also loved his food- he could eat several plates and still have plenty of room for dessert.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Janet Meyer; children, Kimberly (Stephen Decker) Frank of Mason City, Kelley (Rick) Hammitt of Garner, and Robi Meyer of Sheffield; grandchildren, Nycole Hrubes, Amber (Kyle Culley) Hrubes, Andrew Hrubes, Brandon (Shawn True) Frank, Nathan (Mandy) Hammitt, Katie Hammitt, Megan (Zach) Fritz-Ward, Lauren Hammitt; step-children, Allan Huegli, Scott (Cyndi) Huegli, and Tracey (Jeremy) Thiele; step-grandchildren, Brandon Huegli, Brooke Huegli, Aubri Huegli, Dallas Thiele, Michael Moffett, Stephanie Cory, and 25 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Mari (Carroll) Albers and Boni Prignitz; a sister-in-law, Jo Meyer; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceding Bob in death are his parents, Alvin and Arlis, brothers Alvin (Fran) Meyer Jr. and James Meyer, brother-in-law Virgil Prignitz, and his step-daughter Dawn Moffett.
