care for those in need and to share their talents to make the world a better place. She was very proud of the many years that she volunteered at Finley Hospital, the Arboretum, Luther Manor and St. Peter's Lutheran Church. She is survived by four of her five children, Sandra Plumley, Patricia (Norman) Boelk, Linda (Patrick) Kelly, and Michael (Deana) McNamer; her son-in-law, James Husemann; 10 grandchildren; 8 step-grandchildren; and numerous great & great-great grandchildren and step grandchildren whose presence always lit up her world and brought forth her beautiful smile. She leaves a legacy of unconditional love! Virginia was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Robert McNamer; her fiancé Joseph Dolan; her daughter, Kathy "Kate" Husemann; two son-in-laws Eugene Plumley and Robert Zickuhr; one granddaughter Kathy Jean Zickuhr; two sisters, Esther Lubbers and Genevieve Lee; and her brother, John Ney. While her physical body was failing, she fought to be independent to the end and "did it her way". The family would like to thank Dr. Wolbers, Dr. Whalen, and Dr. Johnson, the HomeHealth caregivers at Luther Manor, especially Janet and Deb, as well as the staff and residents at Luther Manor apartments for the love and care they showed their Mom. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund in Virginia's name will be established with donations to be made to her favorite charities.
