Harry R. Brandt, age 88, of Ambler, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 17, 2018.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Harry Brandt and Mary (nee MacDonald) and Fred Phillips.
Harry was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War. He was an electronics engineer, employed for 42 years at Leeds and Northrup until his retirement in 1991.
Mr. Brandt was an amateur radio operator and a member of the Pack Rats amateur radio club. For over twenty years, he loved camping along the Chesapeake Bay in Cherrystone, VA. Harry also enjoyed gardening.
Harry was preceded in death by his beloved wife Rose Ann (nee Brown) in 2010. He is the devoted father of Roxann Karcher of Lansdale; Altair Smith and her husband Donald of Harleysville; Bruce Brandt and his wife Cindy of Albrightsville, PA; and the late Mark Brandt. Harry is the proud grandfather of Edward (Tracey) Karcher, Jr., Kyle (Kristine) Karcher, Sean (Cassandra) Karcher, Ryan Karcher, Donald (Lindsay) Smith, Jr., Phillip (Kasey) Smith, Jessica Callahan and Robert Callahan; and great-grandfather of Julia Miller-Karcher and Phillip Smith, Jr.
