Mary F. Binkley Loucks, 96, of Port Charlotte, FL passed away January 14, 2018. She was born September 30, 1921 in Reading, PA and grew up in the Scranton, PA area. After graduating from Business College in Scranton, Mary worked for the Spaulding Bakery as head secretary. She moved to this area from Middletown, PA after retiring in 1970 from Penn State, where she had a career as a secretary. Locally, Mary was a member of the Edgewater United Methodist Church and volunteered for many years at the Cultural Center, Meals on Wheels, Habitat for Humanity as well as at the former St Joseph's Hospital.
She is survived by her three daughters, Sharon (Harold) Strassner of Middlebury, VT; Judy (Granville) Morris of Port Charlotte, FL and Mary Lou (David) Stricker of Spring Grove, PA; five grandchildren, Kurt, Kristina, Melissa, Emily and David and two great grandchildren, Rylee and Mason. She was predeceased by her husband Harry in 1996.
Burial will be at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in PA. Donations may be made in memory of Mary to either Tidewell Hospice or to the Edgewater United Methodist Church in Port Charlotte.
