Eleanor L. Kearns, 98, of Rogers, Arkansas, formerly of Waterloo, died Sat. Jan. 20, at Hospice Home of Legacy Village, Bentonville, Arkansas. She was born Jan. 4, 1920 in Cedar Falls, daughter of Charles Fredrick and Drusilla Mae Clow Kurth. She married Robert L. Kearns on June 12, 1947 in Waterloo. He died Jan. 23, 1985. Eleanor attended Rockford College, Rockford, Ill. and Iowa State Teacher's College, Cedar Falls. She and her husband owned and operated Kearns Garden Chapel from 1932 until it was changed to Kearns-Dykeman Chapel in 1950. She was a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include: special friends, Celena Young of Rogers; Bill and Ardella Winder of Waterloo; and her devoted cat, Kallie. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24 at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway with burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery.
