Emma Clem, 70, of Creston, died Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at her home with her family in Creston. Celebration of Life Memorial Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 29, 2018 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Creston. Father Ken Halbur will officiate. No visitation will be held. Memorials are to the Holy Spirit Catholic Church or to Hospice of Central Iowa or Crestmoor Golf Club. Online condolences can be made at www.powersfh.com.
Emma Jean Clem was born January 6, 1948 in Council Bluffs, IA.to Ralph Edward Hayes and Annis Lucille (Gourd) Hayes. She graduated from Lenox High School. She has lived in Creston since graduating from high school and worked for the telephone office after graduation until getting married. Emma was united in marriage to William Donald Clem on December 31, 1966 in Lenox, IA. She worked part-time for the Green Valley Chemical for 12 years, Heritage Cablevision fulltime for 4 years, part-time for Lois Monday at Monday Reality and was also a stay at home mother and housewife. Emma was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church and Crestmoor Golf Club, both in Creston.

band Bill Clem of Creston; two sons, Anthony (wife Anne) Clem of Ames, Ia.; Scott Clem of West Des Moines, Ia.; one daughter Dana (husband Dean) Michaelson of Creston; 6 grandchildren, Angela Phipps, Brandon Phipps, Sydney Clem and Allison, Thomas and Ryan Clem, one sister, Rosemary (husband Tom) Bennett, two sisters-in-law, Sharon (husband Lee) Ellershaw and Linda (husband Alan) White, several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, mother and father in-law Don (Creola) Clem, two sisters, Patty John, Suzie Hayes and her sister in-law, Teresa Willets, brother-in-law John Rusk and son-in-law Kevin Phipps.
