Funeral services for Mr. Joe Edward West, 80, of the Spring Creek Community will be conducted at 2 p.m., Friday August 24 from the Rickman United Methodist Church in Rickman, TN with burial in the Paran Cemetery, Rickman, TN where there will be a military service provided by the Honor Guard from the James T. Davis Memorial Post 5062 of Livingston. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday evening from 5 until 9 p.m. and on Friday from 11 a.m. until time for services at 2 p.m.Mr. West died August 21, 2007 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born May 27, 1927 in Putnam County to the late James Guinn and Callie Gaskell Breeden West. He was a farmer.He was a member of Rickman United Methodist Church, a veteran of the U.S. Army, and served as a county commissioner in Overton County for 26 years.He is survived by a grandson, Chris ( wife, Wendy) Speck of Rickman; special friends, Louise Phillips of Cookeville and Dick Pat Radcliffe of Granville; great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Emma Grace, Morgan Speck; cousin, Nadine Edie of Kansas City, KS; and his friends of the Spring Creek Community.He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife: Sibyl A.
