Funeral services for Mr. Walter G. "Speck" Ogletree, age 88, of Livingston will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday January 6, 2015 from the Walnut Grove Church of Christ with Bro. Bobby Gore officiating. Burial will be in the Walnut Grove Cemetery where there will be a military service provided by the Honor Guard from the James T. Davis Memorial Post 5062 of the VFW in Livingston. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday evening from 5 until 9 p.m. Mr. Ogletree passed away January 4, 2015 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born November 17, 1926 in Overton County to the late Elbert Bedford and Julia Ann Rose Ogletree. He was the owner of Speck Ogletree Grocery from 1946 - 1970, Speck Ogletree Studio from 1970 - 1988, and Speck Ogletree Nursery from 1988 - 2000. He was a member and past Elder of the Walnut Grove Church of Christ, and a veteran of the U.S. Navy during WWII. He is survived by a daughter & son-in-law, Dian & Doug Franklin of Livingston; granddaughter, Jennifer Masters & husband, Shawn; grandson, Brian Franklin & wife, Stacie; 2 great-grandchildren, Callie & Jacob Swallows; and 1 future great-granddaughter: Harper Masters.
