Gerald D. Cravins

A Celebration of Life service for Mr. Gerald Duane Cravins, age 83, of Livingston will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, September 11, 2015 from the Monroe Christian Church with Bro. Don Maxson officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday from 12 noon until time for the service at 2 p.m. at the church. Mr. Cravins passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at the Overton County Health & Rehab Center. He was born January 30, 1932 in Akron, OH to the late Estor Edward & Stella Bieloski Cravins. He was a self-employed municipal environmental consultant. He was a 35 year member of the Monroe Christian Church and a member of the Eagle Creek Masonic Lodge. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, a civil war buff, TN Vol fan, and stamp collector. He loved archeology, history, and coaching baseball. He graduated from Livingston Academy in 1950 and was quarterback for the football team, forward for the basketball team, and 2nd base for the baseball team. He is survived by his son & daughter-in-law, Jerry & Cindy Cravens of Livingston; daughter & son-in-law, Pam & Greg Martinez of Boise, ID; grandchildren, Chris, Martinez, Korie Comer & husband, Chris, and Josh Cravins & wife, Casey; great-grandchildren, Cooper, Cora, Kinley Marie, & expecting another; brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Ed & Pat Shearer; and a niece, Delise Shearer. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 64 years, Marilyn M. Shearer Cravins, and his chocolate lab, Cocoa. Memorial contributions may be made to the Overton County Health & Rehab Center.
