Edward R. Larson, 88, of Sioux City, passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at a local hospital. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, February 2, 2018 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City. Burial will be held at a later date.
Ed was born in 1929 in Doon, Iowa to Harvey and Dorothy (Evans) Larson. He graduated from Central High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Ed was employed at Knapp and Spencer Wholesale. In 1955, he married Marlys Livingston in Elk Point, SD. They were married for 24 years. Ed enjoyed doing woodworking projects.
Survivors include two daughters, Kim (Jack) Haggerty and Janet (Ed) Bock; three grandchildren, Melissa (Craig) Rahn, Amanda (Bryan) Kutter, and Travis Bock; five great grandchildren, Skyler, Avery, Madison, Marik, and Sydney; and his former wife, Marlys.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, and one sister.
The family would like to extend a warm thank you to the nurses and staff at Unity Point Health in both the Special Care and Intensive Care Units.
