Margaret A. Diller, 82, of Columbus City, passed away January 31, 2018, at Trinity of Muscatine. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 4, 2018, at the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Columbus Junction. Burial will be in the Columbus City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018, from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A memorial has been established at the funeral home in Margaret's name. Margaret Ann Diller was born on February 20, 1935, in Wapello, Iowa to William "Bill" and Mabel (Edwards) Diller. Margaret was a 1953 graduate of Columbus Community School. ars, serving as treasurer, financial secretary, youth choir director, Sunday school teacher and sang in the adult choir. She was also former Mayor of Columbus City for 8 years, treasurer for the Columbus Community Club, treasurer of the United Fund Board, member of the Columbus Development Committee, 3 Rivers Drive Committee, National Association of Banking Women, C.C.I.C. instrumental in starting Avenue of the Flags, chairman of the Alumni Association for 10 years, member and treasurer of the Columbus Junction town band, and secretary/treasurer of the Columbus City Cemetery Board for 50 years. Margaret was the only person to have been employed by all three banks in Columbus Junction.
Margaret will be dearly missed by her sister, Darlene Allen of Dyersville; brother-in-law, Ernest Kilpatrick of Columbus City and many nieces and nephews.
Margaret was preceded in death by parents, sister, Marilyn Kilpatrick and two infant siblings.
