member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion and Eagles Club Aerie #695 of Iowa City. He was a practical joker and loved his flowers, fishing, traveling, and going on trips. Richard was a loyal and devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He loved his family more than anything and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife of 48 ½ years, Judith Chapman of Marion; daughter, Cynthia (Randy) Barber of Cedar Rapids; son, Courtland (Amy) Chapman of Garrison; seven grandchildren, Sarah Hayes, Kelsey Morris, TJ Morris, Zachery Morris, Lauren Chapman, Alexandria Chapman, and Cordell Sparks; two great-grandchildren, Avolynn Hayes and Carver Hayes; mother-in-law, Helen Blair of Marion; two sisters-in-law, Carol (Chuck) Gray of Eveleth, Minnesota and Nancy (Darrell) Busch of Marion; many nieces and nephews; and two special beloved dogs, "Bandit" and "Olaf".
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Larry J. Chapman.
