t St. John's Lutheran Church in Le Mars. They made their home on his family farm. Ken farmed and started out driving school buses for Le Mars Community Schools. He later became the Transportation Director and worked for Le Mars Community Schools for 30 years. In 1980, he and Audrey moved into Le Mars. Audrey passed away on February 4, 2004. Ken was able to stay living in his own home until his passing. This was made possible by his amazing friends and neighbors: Tyler and Tina Huls and their children, Madi and Carter and Merle and Sue Huls.Ken enjoyed camping and spending time with his family at their lake home in Okoboji. He loved animals, especially cats. He was a talented wood worker - creating pieces of furniture and wood carvings. He was also an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan; he enjoyed watching Hawkeye sports and Minnesota Vikings football games.Ken is survived by his son, David Klave of Le Mars; daughters: Kathy Robinson of Sioux City, Iowa and Terri (John) Califano of South Bend, IN; grandchildren: Katharine Klave, Erika (Kevin) Nemmers, Alanna (Adam) Nissen, Ryan Klave, Katie Califano, John Califano, Sarah Robinson (fiancé, Ben Carter), and Kyle Robinson; great grandchildren: Kaden Nemmers, Josh Nemmers, AnaLeigh Nemmers, Jackson Carter, Miles Carter, Madelyn Carter, and AvaLaurae Nissen; sister, Fern Detloff of Le Mars; and nieces: Kay (Ron) Riel and Karen Ohmart.Ken is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Audrey Klave; and daughter in law, Laura Klave.
