l her woo woo and she knew that 'Nana' always had treats (including carrots) and was always excited to go and visit. She loved grandpa too. She was his 'hunter'. A German endearment for dog. She loved to stay overnight with Nana and grandpa when mommy and daddy had to go somewhere. She followed Nana all over the house. She was Nana's guard dog and watched over Nana constantly. She had the habit of begging at the dinner table, and Nana loved to spoil her with little 'treats' once in a while. Star developed arthritis in her hind quarters and over time walking and getting up were more and more difficult. She developed internal issues that became progressive more intense and she began to lose weight that became more noticeable in the last two months of her life. Cataracts, and abscesses also became problems that we felt were hurting her quality of life. Deciding to put her down was not an easy decision as we had done the same thing with another dog that we loved unconditionally for 15 years, 16 years ago, but we could not see her hurting or suffering and felt she needed to be in peace and whole again. We love her and miss her everyday as well as her sister, Daisy, a Cocker Spaniel. You will be always in our thoughts and forever in our hearts!
