yed flying small engine planes. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast. He had a great interest in boating and owned many different sized vessels, two of which he piloted with friends several times to and from Florida from Massachusetts over the course of his life. He truly loved being on the ocean. Later in his life, he enjoyed quiet comfort and solitude for nearly fourteen years in the country setting of his home in Lake Wales, Florida. Throughout his life, he touched the hearts and souls of hundreds of people he met on his journey. As is evidenced by the outpouring of sympathy to his family members he was a kind, generous, considerate, compassionate and loving man. Joe was always up to something, as you will see in the coming days. He meticulously documented his life adventures in the form of photographs (you may know who you are but don't be worried). He is survived by his daughter Deborah and her husband Michael of New Hampshire; his son Joseph, Jr. and daughter Patricia of Florida; daughter Shalimar of Massachusetts; brother Paul and wife Coralie of Massachusetts / Florida and longtime significant companion Maureen of Florida; as well as many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his wife Irene, and grandchild Michael. A graveside memorial service is being planned for late spring or early summer at the Forest Glen Cemetery in Reading Massachusetts.
