Christina Kathryn Rich, age 101, of Cedar Falls, died on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Martin Health Center of Western Home Communities.
She was born on January 27, 1917 on the family farm in Grundy County, two miles south of Stout, IA; the daughter of Owen and Anna Dirks Rich.
Christina graduated from Central College in Pella, IA and the University of Dubuque with a BA in education.
At age 26, she worked as a Nurses Aid, then as a 1st grade teacher in Boxholm, IA, she taught Kindergarten in Sac City, Ackley, and Orange Township. Christina retired from the Waterloo Community School District in 1979.
Christina was an active member of Orchard Hill Reformed Church in Cedar Falls, where she taught Sunday school, and served in the Children's Ministry and the Connect & Care Ministry. She was dearly loved by all that knew her.
Survivors include cousins: Betty Wehr of Wichita, Kansas, Craig Wehr of Cedar Falls, Janice Karsak of Wichita, KS, Steven Wehr of Readlyn, and her best friend, Ginger.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Andrew Cornelius Rich.
