Dorothy S. "Dotty" Shotwell, 91, of Keokuk, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2018, at The Kensington in Ft. Madison, Iowa.
Dotty was born on November 16, 1926, in Laddonia, Missouri the daughter of Dr. Raymond and Marianne Best Baize. In 1947 she married Hoyt Shotwell, in Laddonia, MO. He preceded her in death on September 22, 2006.
Dotty worked for the Keokuk Community School District for eighteen years teaching first grade at George Washington School. She was a member of the P.E.O. Chapter IG over 50 years and Trinity United Methodist Church; she was a faithful choir member for many years.
Dotty is survived by three daughters: Mary E. (Brad) Cochran of Shell, WY, Carolyn (Curt) Kinghorn os Spokane, WA and Barbara Haas of Keokuk, IA; five grandchildren: Dan (Silke) Cochran, Jessica (Jake) Cochran, Clarie (Mark) Haas Radtke, Olvia (Andrew) Haas Downing and Nathan Kinghorn; one sister Betty Hartwig of Waverly, OH.
Dotty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son-in-law Mike Haas and grandsons Hoyt and Alexander Haas.
