Barbara Ann Lyons
75, died Sunday, February 25. She was born January 12, 1943 to the late Bernard E. Lyons and Helen (Koesters) Lyons. She graduated from North Central High School and St. Elizabeth's School of Nursing in Lafayette. She was a Registered Nurse as well as a Certified Nurse/Midwife. Nursing was a true vocation and ministry for Barb. She began her career in the labor and delivery room at St. Vincent Hospital. She loved the joy in helping new lives and souls being brought into this world and the miracle of birth. She ended her nursing career at St. Vincent Hospice in-patient facility. She felt it was a true honor to help dying patients pass peacefully to be with God. To Barb, her patients were always her number one priority. Barbara had a very deep faith in God. She was an avid Notre Dame Football fan and she LOVED the Indianapolis "500."
She is survived by her brother, James B. Lyons and sister, Mary Helen Quinn (John); four nieces and nephews, James B. Lyons, Jr. (Jennifer), Melissa McGrath (Kevin), Katie Q. Pastorino (Tony) and Joe Quinn (Kelly). She is also survived by seven great nieces and nephews.
