librarian at the Bridwell Library of Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University. In the summer of 1957 Ed, his wife, and their daughter moved to Sewanee to join the School of Theology staff. During his 35 years there, he built up the seminary library collection of only 9,000 volumes to well over 100,000 by the time of his retirement. He also served as Associate University Librarian, and for several years as secretary of the American Theological Library Association. Ed's second love was that of music. He studied piano and organ from an early age, and listened to the weekly Metropolitan Opera broadcasts on his radio in rural Louisiana. In addition to his years as organist at Otey Memorial Parish, he also served in many other leadership roles. Active in the civil rights movement and many peace and social justice causes and organizations in Sewanee, he was a founding member of the Cumberland Center for Justice and Peace, of the local chapter of the Episcopal Peace Fellowship, and of Folks at Home, a Sewanee nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring a comfortable, dignified life for seniors. Ed is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; daughter, Anne Camp (John Flanders), Connecticut; son, Thomas, Chattanooga; grandson, Nathan Flanders, Chicago; brother, David Camp (Shirley), Tucson; sister, Winifred Schneider, San Antonio; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. The family is profoundly grateful for the love and support expressed these past weeks in so many ways, by so many persons in this wonderful community. And they suggest that anyone considering a memorial donate to Otey Memorial Parish, the Library of the School of Theology, or a charity of their choice.
