ommunity activities were some of her interests. Cardinals, angels, banana bars and pumpkin pie were among her favorites. She enjoyed listening to hymns and country music and always looked forward to going out to eat, playing cards and going to the casino with her friends.
"Pingel Timber" was donated to the Stone Arch Trail northeast of Shelby by Lula for the enjoyment of the community.
Lula was preceded in death by her parents - John and Emma Thomsen, 3 brothers - Arthur Thomsen, Harry Thomsen, Walter Thomsen, and her husband, Delbert Pingel. She is survived by nieces - Kathie (William, Jr. "Bill") Barrett of Shelby, IA; Ginni (Ken) Gibson of Iowa City, IA; Artie Seeser of Clinton, IA; Kay (Richard "Butch") Graham of Camanche, IA; Cindy (Kenny) Lind of Camanche, IA; nephew Gary (Myra( Thomsen of Colorado Springs, CO and cousin Dorothy Andersen of Shelby, IA.
