Linda "Grammie" Wenzel, 92, returned to her Heavenly home on March 3, 2018.
Linda was born to Annie and Gusto Bierle, a Machinist and Homemaker in Lansing, MI on August 20, 1925. When she was a young girl, the family moved to Ft. Lupton, CO where she grew up with her two brothers, Harry and Leonard. From a young age, Linda was very active with her church and into adult hood where she taught Sunday school and drove the church school bus for many years.
Linda was blessed with a wonderful family. She married George Lemmerman on December 13, 1947 and raised three boys, Donald, Harry, and Larry in Commerce City, CO. The family often took long family camping trips to explore the beautiful mountains of Colorado. From the very beginning she dedicated her children to God and encouraged them to explore the beauty of the gospels. After 29 years of marriage, George was returned home to God and Linda lived with her oldest son, Don and his family. She would also spend her summers with her son, Harry in Oklahoma and took many family trips all over the United States and Canada. Linda and her son, Larry were also very close and he wou...[more]
nd he would make sure to visit her every year and the two would spend time laughing and teasing each other.
Linda was blessed with a wonderful ability to paint beautiful mountain sceneries, landscapes, flowers, and glorious churches. She was a fan of Thomas Kinkaid and used many of his paintings as inspiration to create similar ones with her own touches. Linda loved spending time with her friends and especially her cousin, Ella Bierle. They were truly two peas in a pod and had so many fun adventures and now reunited in Heaven.
Linda reunited with a childhood friend; Jonathon Wenzel in 2001 and grew close having both being widowed. The two dated and decided to be married in 2004 in Las Vegas, NV and returned to live in Brighton. They enjoyed working in their garden, taking long road trips and enjoying vacations in Mexico and cruises to the Caribbean together. Jonathon passed away in June of 2010 and soon after Linda moved to Inglenook Assisted Living and thrived spending time with her new friends with painting, crafts, games, and outings.
Linda loved to spend every possible moment with her Grand-Children and loved every minute spent with her family. Linda had a very close and special bond with her Grand-daughter, Renee and the two of them spent almost every weekend together going shopping, cooking, movies, and fun trips to get away. When Linda began losing strength and needing more care, Renee made sure she always had everything she needed from silly things like ice cream, root beer, and the Colorado Rockies schedule. Linda was also blessed with special bond with Renee's mother-in-law, Darlene Shepherd who spent many weekday's with her for outings and fun lunches. When Linda's health had started to decline, she was surrounded by nurses at Inglenook that grew to love everything about her and were very close to Linda's heart. Linda truly received such loving care and had bonded closely with a few of her nurses, Tonya (Mama Turtle), Anna, Gina, and Bobbi.
Linda is survived by her brother, Leonard Bierle, her son, Larry Lemmerman (Jane), her two Daugher-in-Law(s), Jeanne Price and Debbie Lemmerman, her grandchildren, Renee Roberts (Allan), Don Lemmerman (Desiree), Michelle Lemmerman (Eric), Shauna Wright (James), and Danielle Lemmerman as well as 10 great grandchildren.
