Lorraine Seraphine Schafer, 87, of Sioux City, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at a local hospital. Private family services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.
Lorraine was born on March 24, 1930 in Mallard, Iowa to William and Mary (Leners) Korleski. She grew up in the Cherokee area and married Richard Schafer on February 26, 1949 in Sioux City.
For thirty plus years, Lorraine worked at Walgreens in downtown Sioux City. She enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs, and game shows on television. Lorraine loved spending time with family, especially the grandkids and great grandkids. Attending their sporting events, and playing cards with them was one of her favorite things to do. After her retirement, she was an avid bingo enthusiast. Additionally, she relished playing the board game, Wahoo, which she played sometimes several nights a week with family.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, several siblings and her husband.
