Mr. Pollit was a life member of the VFW post 1984 Canton, Il, American Legion Post 0017 Ipava, Ill, life member of the DAV (Disabled American Veterans), member of the BPOE #626 in Canton, Ill, life member of the NRA, life member of the ACT (Army Career Tracker). Mr. Pollit was an avid hunter, fisherman and all around sportsman. He was on many rile and pistol teams in the military, police department and civilian competitions, winning many awards. After retirement, he and his wife, Sharon, spent their winters in south Texas, Rio Grande Valley. They thrived as a team and were avid shufflers, winning many trophies. Richard and Sharon were able to travel to many countries, including most of Mexico, the Bahamas, and Jamaica, to name a few. They also enjoyed many cruises together. Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Mary Pollitt and his two sisters, Inez Babb and Maxine Smith. He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon K. Walker, his step-children and step-grandchildren.
