Viola and Estle were active members of the Church of Christ where she was superintendent of the Beginners, Primary and Middle School Sunday School and taught in all three groups. Viola was instrumental in starting a nursery for infants, directed children's Christmas programs and was active in the Women's Fellowship in several different capacities. Viola became a member of the Faith United Methodist Church when Grace United and Mulberry Center churches joined together and she served diligently there until her health would not permit. On July 19, 1997 Viola married Harry Barrick and they moved to a house on Locust Street and enjoyed a wonderful life of blessings and experiences, including attending grandchildren's school and sports events and marriages. Viola's family grew to 18 children and spouses, 31 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren. They spent their winters in Texas and traveled all over the U.S. in their motorhome. Viola and Harry moved to an apartment on Locust Street before Harry's passing on January 16, 2004. Viola loved traveling and visited 23 countries around the world, mostly with the Prestige Club Travel Group of the First State Bank.
