Violet N. Mockler, 92, passed away on March 24, 2018 at St Vincent's Hospice, Indianapolis. She was born on December 12, 1925 in Chicago, Illinois to parents Edith and Charles Nitsche. She grew up in Chicago and graduated from North Austin High School. She married Edward L. Mockler, Jr. on July 11,1944 at North Austin Lutheran Church in Chicago. He preceded her in death in 2000.
She is survived by her daughter Nancy (Dave) Sattler of West Lafayette and son Warren Mockler of Westfield. She has 6 grandchildren: Kathryn (Mark) Hartfield of St. Joseph, Mi, Sarah (Jon) Koch of Angola, IN, Peter (Emmy Ellison) Sattler of Los Angeles, CA, Mark (Kathryn) Sattler of Indianapolis, Shannon Mockler of Falls Church, VA, and Stephanie (Seth) Wooten of Tipton, IN. She also has 10 great-grandchildren.
She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She had a green thumb and enjoyed working in her yard and mowing well into her 80's. The Lutheran Church was an important part of her life.
