ger Company. On the banks of the Mississippi, they raised two daughters, Noli and Jeri. Evie loved being outdoors. She enjoyed golfing with Bob and loved to swim well into her eighties at the Keokuk Country Club. She could often be found on her patio, listening to the birds and the breeze in the trees. She also loved traveling; her favorite song was "On the Road Again" by Willy Nelson. With Bob, she made many trips to Ireland and other European destinations, and enjoyed visiting her daughters in Colorado and Maine, road trips with stops at favorite motels and restaurants. She enjoyed trips arranged by First Community Bank, and any local Keokuk event from performances by McNamara's Band, Eagle Days, to visits to the Keokuk Public Library and the Miller House, where she was a volunteer. Evelyn was a member of All Saints Catholic Church, volunteering for a time at St. Joseph's Hospital Auxiliary. Evie is survived by her daughters, Noli Morath (Stephen) of Manitou Springs, CO, and Jeri Chapman (Stephen) of Portland, ME; grandchildren Ingrid, Anna, Charles and Greta Morath; and Greer and William Chapman; and many dear relatives in the Walcott area and beyond. She is predeceased by her husband, parents, and two brothers, Elmer and Don. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 30, at the Keokuk National Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to All Saints Catholic Church, the Miller House or Keokuk Public Library. DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center is in charge of arrangements.
