ng to Indianapolis in 1959, he worked as vice president of Yegen Associates Midwest and as a director of its New Jersey parent company; as vice president of Indiana National Corporation; as vice chairman and president of Consumer Marketing Services Corp.; as president of Monument Life Insurance Co.; as president of Citadel Finance Corp.; as president of Tower Advertising Agency; as president of Homevest Corporation; as vice president of Creditors Insurance Services; and as a longtime consultant for National Underwriters. He also served as a director of several Indiana banks: Western State Bank, South Bend; Leiters Ford Bank, Leiters Ford; Liberty Bank, Wabash; and Edinburg State Bank. Howard embraced technology throughout his life. During his working years, he loved to fly his Mooney Mark 21 plane, clocking more than 6,000 hours throughout the country on business and pleasure. Even into his 90s while living at Hoosier Village, he saw the computer as his friend. He kept abreast of changing financial markets and enjoyed trading stocks on his computer each day. Howard and Shirley Krauss were residents of Brendonwood in Indianapolis for 45 years. They also were active members of the Vestry at the Episcopal Church of the Nativity. Howard is survived by his children, G. Howard Krauss III (Margaret) of Tenants Harbor, Me. and John L. Krauss (Marnie Maxwell) of Indianapolis. A memorial service to celebrate Howard's life will be at 2 p.m. April 21 in the Gothic Chapel at Crown Hill Cemetery, with visitation 30 minutes prior.
