James Bowling Jr, 87 of Grove City, OH passed away of complications of Alzheimer's. Born March 14, 1931 in Walton, KY, to Ida (Pennington) and James Bowling Sr. He leaves behind his wife Donna (Hurley); Daughters, Jamie McCord Capehart (Ed), Missouri, Kim (Dan) Poor, Grove City, with whom he resided, and Jill Powell, Hamilton; grandson, Alex (Victoria) McCord, Missouri; granddaughters, Delaney Poor, Grove City, Megan Capehart, Missouri, Christina Logsdon, Hamilton, and four great grandchildren. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Leila Carter, Eula Spurlock, and Ruth Turner; brothers, William, Arnold, Harold, Palmer, and many nieces and nephews. Jim served in the US Army from 1948 to 1952, being honorably discharged July 21, 1952. He was an avid bowler on the Coleman Bowling Lanes traveling team. Jim retired from Champion Paper in 1992 after 41 years. A visitation will be held at Ivey Funeral Home, Hamilton, Ohio on Saturday, April 7, 2018 from 12pm-2pm with a Celebration of Life to follow at 2pm.
