Eva Ione Osborn was born on April 29, 1921 in Numa, Iowa, to Chester and Sadie (Litsey) Osborn. In 1931, at age 10, she and her siblings were given up to the Iowa Children's Home due to the Depression. In approximately 1936 she went to live with Mr. and Mrs. C.T. Young in Des Moines. She later lived with Ralph and Flora Lacey in Des Moines. The family later moved to Waterloo where Eva attended West High School, graduation in 1939. While attending high school, she met Nathan Charles Spears. The two were married in 1942. Eva worked at Hinson Manufacturing during this time, while Chuck serve in WWII Europe. They were blessed with three daughters: Colleen, Deborah, and Beverly. The family traveled extensively and traveling was a major part of Eva's life until Chuck's passing in March of 1979. Afterward, she graduated with an accounting degree from Hawkeye Community College. Eva married Dale Buenneke in October of 1984. The couple traveled, enjoyed life, and were active in church until Dale's death in October of 1994. She continued an active life until health prompted her to move into Assisted Living at Western Homes in Cedar Falls.
